Mythos Poodles is a small hobby program. We are not now nor have we ever been in the business of churning out litters simply for the sake of doing so. In fact, in the little over a decade that we have bred poodles, we have only produced 15 total litters with no more than 2 litters in a single year. And, while this is a hobby of ours, we take the impact and implications of what we do very seriously.

At the early 2023, we decided to take a hiatus. The increase in the number of pets being dropped at the shelter post-COVID paired with the rapid influx of breeders, many of which producing 10+ litters a year, helped fuel our decision.

Unfortunately, while some of these breeders are trying to maintain and better the breed, it seems that many are simply interested in the income that can be generated. Our initial hope was to take the hiatus and wait for an equilibrium before we return. However, our current dogs are from wonderful lines and our hope is to maintain our line’s caliber as well as provide phenomenal puppies for hopeful prospective pet parents.

With that said, we are re-committing ourselves to having litters ONLY when we happen across a poodle that can enhance our line.

Our goal has always been to produce the quintessential poodle. While there are, at this point, probably a hundred poodle hybrids, we think the original is the best!
